- They only offer non-binding estimates: A non-binding estimates leaves the door open for the mover to raise the prices once the actual move begins. Stay away.
- Plenty of negative online reviews: Every moving company will get negative reviews from time to time. However, if more than half of the reviews are negative, something is wrong.
- Complaints to the BBB or FMCA: You’ll also know that a 24 hour moving and storage company has question marks on their reliability and trustworthiness if customers are constantly complaining about their services to the Better Business Bureau and FMCSA.
Above all, always ask for references. At least, the moving company should have a few people to vouch for them. If there’s none, run.
