Use Appropriately Sized Boxes

In an ideal scenario, you would have the original boxes that computers, TVs, and other electronics came in. These boxes typically have some form of protection like Styrofoam inside them and fit snug to your devices so that there is no room for jostling during the moving process. Having said that, the reality is that most of us don’t keep the original boxes for items we’ve purchased. If you find yourself in this boat, do your best to find boxes that fit snugly around your electronics. In a pinch, you can fill slightly larger boxes with additional packing materials like bubble wrap to make sure that all items are securely packed to protect against drops and damages.

Temperature Controlled Environment Is Best

If it is an option for you (and many moving companies offer it), you should opt for a climate controlled truck when moving computer equipment. Extreme temperatures in either direction can cause damage to the small, delicate internal components of a computer or other types of electronics.
